Mirzapur coal plant environmental-clearance challenge
Environmental2025-03Reuters (2025-03) reported Adani was defending an NGT case alleging work began on a ~US$2bn coal plant before environmental clearance and that the forested site would harm wildlife. MoEFCC subsequently granted environmental clearance to Mirzapur Thermal Energy (UP) Pvt Ltd (a subsidiary of Adani Power) on 2025-09-23 — a clearance that is itself now under NGT challenge.
